Resumen

La psicología del testimonio, rama de la psicología jurídica, ha demostrado que la memoria humana es un proceso dinámico, vulnerable a múltiples influencias. Este artículo de divulgación explora como factores como el estrés, el tiempo, la sugestión y los estereotipos pueden alterar los recuerdos de testigos, afectando la validez de sus declaraciones en juicios. Se abordan casos de errores judiciales, el valor del testimonio infantil, el rol del psicólogo forense como perito, así como buenas prácticas en la toma de declaraciones. La incorporación de estas evidencias científicas puede fortalecer la administración de justicia y prevenir condenas erróneas.
